Jodi George
HOPE Academy’s Founding Principal
Serving as principal and primary teacher for HOPE Academy since its 2017 inception, Jodi George has dedicated herself to creating positive and successful learning environments for K-12 students for more than 30 years. Her journey began at California State University, Chico where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Liberal Studies, and completed the requirements for Professional Clear teaching credentials (K-12). She would later earn a Master of Christian Ministry with a focus on alternative education from Seattle Pacific University.
Jodi has taught students in a variety of educational settings including: Foster High School in Tukwila, Washington; Seattle Street School, a program designed to help street youth earn their high school diplomas, where she served as the head of the Language Arts and History department; and Chico Junior High School. Most recently Jodi was on the faculty of Chico Christian School, serving first the director of Chico Christian School’s PSP/Homeschool Program (2006-2013) and then as the director of the Alternative Learning Classroom (2013-2017). She was also a homeschool mom for 15 years.
In each educational setting, Jodi's teaching is guided by her conviction that "...God has made all of us unique, and that children truly are 'His masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them' (Ephesians 2:10). When we hold out this reality to our children, we empower them and give them a great vision for their future."
